Character's Image:
Name: Zack Fair
Aliases: Zackie, Puppy
Age: Well in the beginning of Crisis Core, Zack is 17. But by the time he dies, he’s 24. His birthdate is never given.
Gender: Male
Series: Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core/Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (And Advent Children Complete)
Likes: Squats, Aeris, Being a back-water expert along with Cloud, Having dreams, protecting his SOLDIER honor, getting both useful and useless information from Kunsel, training.
Dislikes: Those who commit evil, being unable to protect the ones he cares for, vacations (because he cannot do his job if he’s relaxing on the beach at Costa Del Sol).
Character Description: Zack is a pretty fit male. Being SOLDIER, he must maintain his physical structure more or less to maintain stamina. He does this with simple exercises like a series of squats. His height is debatable; he is at first believed to be over six feet tall, but in Advent Children Complete, he is the same height as Cloud, which is 5’8”. I, personally, stick Zack at an even six feet tall. His raven black hair is somewhat long, but it’s spikey in the back while his bangs hang low. This, too, is variable depending on the point in his timeline; in the beginning of Crisis Core, he had thicker bangs that parted down the middle, hanging on either side of his face while his spikes were relatively short. However, after Angeal’s death, Zack’s spikes grew longer and he had only one long bang that hung over the right side of his head. It’s length varies as well. His 2nd Class SOLDIER uniform and 1st Class SOLDIER uniform were relatively the same except for the color. The 2nd Class uniform was more purple while his 1st Class uniform was black and navy blue. He has blue-green eyes which are the result of a special surgery all SOLDIER are required to have. They are the same color of the mako energy; this is because all SOLDIERs are required to have an infusion of mako energy. A smaller detail concerning Zack’s appearance: he obtains a scar on his left cheek resembling an X. As a 2nd Class, he carries the standard sword on his back, but after Angeal dies, he inherits the Buster Sword.
Character Personality: I can only start this by saying: Zack is referred to as a puppy for a reason. Outwardly, Zack has a childlike manner about him. He is over-eager to try new things, especially if it concerns his job and getting closer to his dreams. He is a very happy and outgoing young male, and though he is aware of having to maintain SOLDIER honor, he still allows his emotions to get the better of him. No matter how much SOLDIER honor he has, friends are always the bigger priority. In fact, any human life is a priority. This can be mistaken for carelessness. He is not the careless type, really. He’s simply thinking with his heart rather than his head.
Though he appears to be happy-go-lucky, he has his thoughts and feelings that run deeper than that. It almost seems as if he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders even if the entire world his not his responsibility. He is mistaken for dumb-witted or, at the very least, gullible. This can be true in some cases, but he knows more than people give him credit for. He is also quick to temperament, but that does not mean he is an angry person. A better word is, “defensive.” He is quick to defend himself when he feels like he is being accused of something, no matter how big or small, and it never seems to matter if they’re right or wrong. Also, he is more than willing to tell someone to bug off if he is either highly annoyed by them or if they are considered an enemy. He can be impatient, but not rudely so. Usually he prefers to get in, do the job, and go home.
He is a rather flirtatious male. He is in no way homosexual considering how many times he’s caught flirting with other females. And though he tends to flirt around, his one and only interest is Aeris. He tends to go out of his way for her, making time out of his busy life to visit her in her church. He made time to build her a wagon and even help her sell flowers to make it a less dreary place. She was his escape from reality and at the same time, she was his fortress of solitude. This was especially so after Angeal’s death. He found himself doing everything he could to protect her; this shows that not only did he cherish her, but even if he didn’t he holds a respect for women in particular. Country boys tend to hold women in higher regard, generally speaking.
Lastly, Zack has no fear of death. He has immense courage to face any enemy that stands in his path. He will fight any foe hands down if he knows it is for the greater good, or if he knows he has no other choice but to. Wanting badly to be considered a hero before his time was up, he fought for the greater good to the best of his ability. With this, it cost him his own life for “betraying ShinRa,” as they believed, just as they believed Angeal had. He gave his life to protect his good friend, Cloud.
So to put all of that in one sentence, Zack Fair is energetic, eager, protective, honor-bound, and courageous (and sometimes slow in the head.)
Character History: So, Zack’s history is a really long one. So instead of typing it all out (because that in itself can take one, maybe two Word Doc pages), I’m going to post the link to his character history.

Role Play Example: (This new roleplay example was used as a starter long long time ago. Haha. All I really did was spice it up a bit; add things here, change things there. I hope it will suffice.)
Bright sun rays hit mako blue eyes for the first time in years. At least, sun rays of the world he knew once upon a time. The warm sun felt nice against the male's skin, a feeling he hadn't known in some time. How such a thing could ever happen was beyond his understanding but it wasn't up for question at the moment. The important thing was that it was happening. Even if the bliss only lasted temporarily, it was all he could ever ask for. Would he get the chance to see people of the past again? It would be nice, to see a familiar face. He had mad that encounter once before, however, but in a different form.
Black strands tickled pale skin as the gentle breeze brushed them ever so lightly. How he had longed to feel such a thing for his own. He remembered when he had the opportunity to feel such a thing before, but it was in the arms of another, and for a purpose.
"Flying feels... Pretty good."
'Angeal was right.'
In fact, the ex-SOLDIER could remember when those words were spoken to him. He’d finally accomplished his long-desired dream of making 1st Class. He’d been spending time in the Sector 5 slums where he met his favorite girl, the same girl that could always be found tending to her yellow and white lilies. She certainly was a beauty; and even though she had a very simple and polite personality, her outlook on life and her ignorance to the ways of the world he knew of was more than refreshing. It was the perfect escape from the realities of his dangerous life. After his first meeting with her, however, the SOLDIER worked with his old mentor after another ShinRa betrayer set out to abduct a scientist (one that was considered to be a bit on the insane side.) That was when he saw them. That was when he saw his mentor with those beautiful, white wings. From that moment, the raven-haired male knew that he wanted wings just like them.
And now he had them.
Higher he soared into the sky, barely masked by white puffs of cotton candy clouds. How was it possible to even fly with just one wing? That didn't seem scientifically possible. But he managed it, against his slight fear. And Angeal was right; flying did feel good. Maybe that girl in the Church would enjoy it too... But she seemed happy right where she was where he had been with her. A small smirk crossed his features as he gave a hard flap of his wings, desiring a sense of speed to send his adrenaline soaring.
And it did, but not how he wanted. The once-dead man suddenly felt himself spinning in the air, and the more he flapped his wing, the more he spun. His heart was sent into a panic and his mind raced with questions and possible solutions. But the more he spun, the more he found himself tangled in his own wing. And now, it was no longer a thing of safety but a tool of doom. How he managed to always get stuck in such situations, he could never guess.
His stomach managed to find itself in his throat. Or, it felt that way, at least. He was falling. And falling fast. The panicked male squirmed within the feather trap, elbowing and kicking the wing that seemed to wrap tightly around him. "Ow, hey! OW!"
'Ok, so that's not going to work... Geez, that hurts...'
His feet kicked hard, though in the back of the SOLDIER’s mind, he knew it was hopeless. Well, at least there was nothing to fear. He would simply wind up back where he had been before. Nothing to lose, except maybe a sense of dignity and a big dent in the ego. That is, if anyone saw him... If he landed somewhere secluded, void of people, he could at least write it off as a "never happened" incident.
CRASH.
What the hell did he just hit? Maybe wood? It certainly felt like it. A pain-filled cry resounded in the surrounding environment. And with his luck, his body landed on the side, rather than the back. A sharp pain shot throughout his arm upon impact, and he gritted his teeth whilst the pain forced a groan. 'Great. My shoulder's dislocated. The first time I get to fly, and I have a brush with death. Am I supposed to feel pain, though?' With a frustrated sigh, the male did nothing to unwrap himself but simply stayed where he was. The pain shot through his entire body, and perhaps if he stayed put, the feeling would subside enough to get up and examine his surroundings. "Why me...?" he groaned.
But that thought nagged the back of his mind as he laid there, clutching his injured shoulder. He wasn’t supposed to feel pain, right? If he died years ago, then all that remained was a spirit flying around with wings. Angeal made it look so easy, too. He knew, however, that he deserved exactly what he got for not asking how to use the wings beforehand. But that wasn’t the point. Once he got back to the skies, if he ever got back to the skies, he would need some answers. Angeal might know, or even his beautiful flower girl. ‘I think I’ll just…lay here for a while. Maybe…’
